How To Sell Your Second-Hand Handbag

Looking to sell your handbag in South Africa - Start Here

At Luxity, we understand that the thought of letting go of a beloved designer second-hand handbag can sometimes feel daunting, but selling your second-hand handbag is a great way to get something in return for an item that no longer fits your personal style or you’ve outgrown. Pre-owned luxury handbags kept in an excellent condition can fetch you a decent amount of return if sold to a professional reseller. Be wary of selling your luxury items online on non-verified sites to protect yourself from being scammed. We’ve put together a few tips on how you should go about selling your designer items in a quick and safe way:

1) Determine Which Items You’d Like to Sell

Black Designer Bag Closet It’s not always easy to let go of designer items that you previously adored. However, to avoid clutter and to free up some cash for your next purchase, it can be quite necessary. Ask yourself the following questions if you’re struggling to decide whether you should be putting your designer item up for sale:

- When last did I use this designer handbag?

- Is this still current/fashionable?

There’s nothing wrong with being a trend-conscious fashionista who prefers not to be seen using luxury items released 2 or 3 seasons ago. If you are ready to purchase a newly released item, then it’s time to let go of the previous one – because you know you’re not going to wear them again. Ever.

2) Choose an authentic reseller for your designer handbag(s):

Due to the designer market being flooded with fake items, it’s important to choose a reputable reseller for your items. Designer Reseller In South Africa At Luxity, we have an in-house team of experts who extensively review every item’s condition and authenticity before an offer is made. You will leave with peace of mind that you were offered a fair price for your designer goods. In South Africa Luxity is a market leader and has the ability to move your handbags fast and in a safe and secure environment for both you and the new owner of your once loved Louis Vuitton. 3) Find Out About the Process Involved in Selling Your Item

Black Chanel Flap Bag At Luxity, we make it our mission to make the selling process as convenient and easy as possible. Whether it’s a Louis Vuitton bag that you need to sell to make room for another or a Chanel handbag that is not your style anymore, we’ve put together the following process in place to assist you in selling your item:

Submit item photographs

Ensure that you submit individual photos of each item that you would like to sell and don’t forget to include the item’s designer, name and at least one image. Remember also to include any original packaging that your item may come with, such as: original receipt, dust bag and/or box. Images can be emailed to sellit@luxity.co.za or submitted easily online on our website www.luxity.co.za. Should you be based in Johannesburg, you can also come to our flagship store at Melrose Arch or Cape Town and drop the items off there.

Cash Buyout Price / Listing on consignment

Once you submit your item(s), we will email you with an offer within 72 hours (weekends and public holidays excluded). Your buyout price will be quoted based on the condition of your item, the brand as well as the item’s popularity. Based on this you will receive an offer for either cash or to list your item on consignment.

Getting your item to us & Paperwork

Should you accept our offer, it is now time to get the item to us (unless you’ve dropped it off previously). You will be informed how you courier it to us – or you simply come to our flagship store in Melrose Arch, Sandton or Cape Quarter in Cape Town. At the same time, you will be informed about any further steps and what paperwork we require.

Authentication

Luxity prides itself on only selling 100% authentic goods. We will not consider an item that is not authentic and although we are not affiliated with any of the brands that we sell, we will cooperate with them by revealing scammers and reporting them to the necessary authorities. Every item is checked by our experts once we receive them.

Payment

Your payment – in the case of a cash offer for your items – is issued the next payment round after we receive and authenticate your items (we currently process payments at least twice a week). The entire process from submission to payout can be as short as 3 days (excluding weekends). We’re here to help, should you have further queries or concerns about letting go of your designer handbags!
